cDox and Google Docs overlap on plenty of features. Real-time collaboration, comments, shared folders, clean exports: those are table stakes for a document editor, and cDox has them. But the overlap ends there, on purpose. cDox is not trying to be Google Workspace, and it is not on its way to becoming one.

Google’s real strength is stringing everything together: mail, calendar, chat, storage, and documents in one account. That is a genuine achievement, and it is the thing we have chosen not to chase. We would rather make the document itself excellent and keep the surface small.

If what you actually need is a full sovereign suite, mail and calendar included, that exists in Canada too. Take a look at Soomi, a Canadian workspace built on Nextcloud with the same data-residency principles. It is a better fit than cDox for that job, and we are happy to say so.
