Your account and Pro
Signing in, your profile, Pro, and deleting your account.
Signing in and out
To sign in, go to cdox.studio and click Log in at the top right. Enter your email address and password, then click Log In. No account yet? Click Sign up instead. It's free.
Forgot your password? On the login page, click Forgot your password? under the button. Enter your email address and we'll send you a link to choose a new password. The link works for one hour. Don't see it? Check your spam or junk folder.
To sign out, open My Account (click your avatar in the top right of the dashboard) and click Log out, near the bottom. It's a good idea on a computer other people use. In the iPhone and iPad app, tap your avatar to open Account; on Android, Log out is at the bottom of the menu.
Your profile photo
To add a photo, open My Account (click your avatar in the top right of the dashboard). You can crop and adjust it right in cDox.
Your photo shows at the top of a document when you're working on it with other people, in your comments, and on your public pages if you choose to show the author.
Without a photo, cDox shows the first letter of your first name on a colored background.
Changing your email address
Open My Account (click your avatar in the top right of the dashboard), then choose Update email. Enter the new address and your current password, then save.
We send a confirmation link to the new address. Click it to finish. Until then, your current address keeps working as usual.
The confirmation link works for one hour. While the change is waiting, you can resend the link or cancel the change from the same spot.
cDox Pro
cDox is free for 150 pages and sheets. If you'd like more and a few extras, cDox Pro gives you:
- Unlimited pages and sheets instead of 150
- Images in your pages, up to 1 GB
- Pro fonts, twelve typefaces for your pages
- A faster API for programmers, 300 requests a minute instead of 100
Pro costs $8 a month or $70 a year (in Canadian dollars). Paying yearly saves you $26.
To subscribe, go to the pricing page (link below). On the web, payments go through Helcim, a Canadian payment provider. In the iPhone, iPad and Android apps, you can also subscribe through Apple or Google, at the price the store shows.
Your subscription pays for cDox directly. No investors, no ads. Thank you for supporting an open, private web.
Cancelling Pro
You can cancel Pro whenever you like. No contract, no fees, no questions asked.
If you subscribed on the web, open My Account (click your avatar in the top right of the dashboard) and click Cancel on the Pro card. Your card isn't charged again, and you keep Pro until the end of the time you paid for.
To move between monthly and yearly, cancel, then choose the other plan. You keep the time you already paid for: the new plan starts when it runs out.
If you subscribed in the iPhone, iPad or Android app, cancel in your Apple or Google subscription settings, like any other app.
Questions about billing? Get in touch.
Your documents are never deleted when you cancel, and you can subscribe again anytime. You can keep reading, editing and sharing all of it. If you have more than 150 pages and sheets, you can make new ones again once you delete a few.
Switching to French or English
cDox comes in English and French. To switch, open My Account and pick your Language under Preferences. All of cDox switches right away.
This doesn't change the language spelling is checked in. That has its own Spelling section on the same page. See Check your spelling.
In the iPhone, iPad and Android apps, it's on the Account screen.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time. Before you do, export anything you want to keep: once it's deleted, nothing can be brought back.
- Open My Account (click your avatar in the top right of the dashboard).
- Scroll to the very bottom, below Log out, and choose Delete account.
- Enter your password to confirm.
In the iPhone, iPad and Android apps, tap your avatar to open Account, then Delete account.
What happens next. Your pages, sheets, folders, comments and images are gone from cDox right away and can't be restored. Your public links stop working. Our servers are backed up every night and those backups are erased after 14 days, so within that time your data leaves them too. We email you to confirm once it's done.
For the people you share with. They lose access to your documents, including pages and sheets they made inside your shared folders, since those folders belong to you. You're also removed from anything others shared with you, and your comments on their pages are deleted.
Deleting your account cancels a Pro subscription started on the web. One started in the iPhone, iPad or Android app is cancelled in your Apple or Google subscription settings: cancel it there too, or the store keeps billing you.
